Mattar Residences in Singapore’s District 14

Mattar Residences is a Freehold Condominium with 26 Units. It is located at 7 Matter Road in Singapore District 14. It is developed by L.K.Ang Construction Pte Ltd.

The good news is that many of the devices already in your home should work with Matter thanks to a new protocol designed to allow smart-home brands more freedom to switch between platforms without changing hardware. The protocol is called Matter, and it’s meant to be local to your home, reducing the need for the cloud. The new protocol also outlines data privacy principles, making it easier to share information between ecosystems.

If you have devices that connect to your home’s Wi-Fi, they might be able to update to Matter via an over-the-air firmware upgrade. For example, Eve’s lineup of sensor products can now integrate with Matter, as well as the company’s GE Cync lighting and security products. Other devices, like Yale’s locks and some smart plugs, will require a hardware change, such as swapping out modules or adding Thread radios.

Other manufacturers have been working on releasing Matter-compatible devices. The list of partners reads like a who’s who of the smart-home world, with companies such as Philips Hue, Eve Systems, Aqara, and Nanoleaf announcing new gear that supports Matter. CES 2024 was awash in new devices that support the protocol.

Then there are the big names, such as Amazon’s Echo and Nest Hub speakers and displays; Google’s Android devices; Apple’s HomePod Mini, the new second-gen HomePod and Apple TV 4K; and Samsung’s SmartThings hubs (which include some refrigerators). Thread is built into these smart-home hubs, and those devices can act as controllers for your Matter devices. matter residences
